Biodiversity under the Microscope

The Young Naturalist leads students on Journeys of Microscopic Discovery in our Natural World.

Photo: “Young Naturalists view pollen grains at 400 times larger than life, using a research grade compound microscope, in our ‘Biodiversity Under the Microscope’ workshop.”

Students experience the excitement of scientific discovery by:

  • Preparing their own specimens for microscopic examination.
  • Identifying their specimens using The Young Naturalist taxonomic identification keys

Through hands-on scientific investigation students learn to identify and name Australian plants, fungi, and insects, leading to in-depth understanding of our living world.

Our Young Naturalists gain in-depth understanding of our Living World.
